StockMock alternatives in India

What StockMock is genuinely best at, where it stops, and which tools cover the gap. Prices and history depth read from their own plans page and dated, including the parts we could not verify.

If your question is about expiry day, StockMock is probably still the right tool and you do not need an alternative. People look for one for a narrower reason: it is an expiry and structure specialist, so a strategy driven by an indicator rather than by the calendar has nowhere to live in it.

Two things stand out from their own plans page, and the second is genuinely to their credit.

It is two products, priced separately. The analytics side - simulator, builder and charts - is one purchase. Backtesting on the home and basket pages is another, sold as a window of days rather than a monthly subscription, with a fair-usage note about hourly and daily limits.

They publish history depth per index, with a different start date for BANKNIFTY, NIFTY and SENSEX, and a fourth for the simulator. Almost nobody in this category does that. Most publish one number and let you assume it covers everything, which it never does.

Where it stops

No general technical indicators. This is the reason most people go looking. Entries are built from expiry timing, structure and strike selection rather than from RSI, moving averages or MACD. There is one documented exception, a range breakout feature. If your idea is "sell a straddle when the index is above its 200 day average", it is not expressible there.

The NIFTY backtest starts later than the BANKNIFTY one, by more than two years, per their own page. Worth knowing before you plan a NIFTY study around it.

No free tier appears on their plans page. Absence on a page is not proof, so we do not state it as a fact, but we could not find one.

What to use instead, by what you actually want

You want indicator-driven options entries. That is what we built: 62 named signals, of which 60 are computed indicators and two are the raw price and volume series, combinable with AND and OR, and usable as the entry condition on an options strategy rather than only on equities. Our options history is Index options from 2016 for NIFTY and BANKNIFTY, 2021 for FINNIFTY, 2022 for MIDCPNIFTY and 2024 for NIFTY Next 50

You want intraday. AlgoTest is intraday-first across every underlying. Ours checks its rules once a day on the settle price except on one index, and that difference decides most same-day strategies.

You want it free and you have a Zerodha account. Streak, without hesitation.

You want the option chain, max pain and PCR without paying anything. That is open here with no account: five indices, and every F&O stock with the same figures on its own page.

Where StockMock beats us, plainly

Expiry-day tooling and structure analysis. Their simulator is built around the question "what happens on expiry" and ours is not. If that is your question, the honest answer is that we are the wrong tool.

Why do people look for a StockMock alternative?

Almost always the same reason: no general technical indicators. It is an expiry and structure specialist by design, so a strategy that starts with a chart signal rather than a calendar rule cannot be built in it.

Is StockMock's unlimited backtesting really unlimited?

Inside the window you bought, with a fair-usage note. Their plans page states that hourly and daily backtest limits apply so that servers stay fast, and that higher limits can be purchased. So it is unlimited in the sense of no per-test charge, not in the sense of no ceiling.

How much options history does StockMock have?

It depends on the index, and they are one of the few platforms honest enough to say so on the pricing page itself. The table above carries the dates they publish, each linked to that page.

What does EdgeTest cost by comparison?

The free plan runs unlimited equity backtests with no card. Options backtesting and the full history are paid, and there is a seven day trial of the middle tier first. The pricing page has the exact split.

Every figure about another platform on this page was checked against its source on 9 September 2026. Prices and limits move. If you find one out of date, tell us and we will correct it.

EdgeTest is analysis only. Nothing here is investment advice, we do not place orders, and we are not registered with SEBI. Backtested results are hypothetical and simulated, and past performance does not indicate future results.
