What Bajaj Auto Limited does
A short, human-reviewed summary of the business, written from public sources. Background, not analysis, and not updated intraday.
business summary

Bajaj Auto is a sister company to Bajaj Holdings and Bajaj Finserv, not a subsidiary, all three having split from the original Bajaj Auto in a 2007 demerger. Since November 2025 it has held a controlling 74.9% stake in Bajaj Mobility AG (formerly Pierer Mobility, parent of Austria's KTM, Husqvarna and GasGas), unlike its no-equity manufacturing and distribution partnership with Triumph, under which it builds Triumph-badged motorcycles at its Chakan plant.

2
2What it sells

Makes motorcycles under its own Pulsar, Dominar, Avenger and Chetak brands, plus commercial three-wheelers and quadricycles; through long-running manufacturing tie-ups it also builds KTM, Husqvarna and Triumph branded motorcycles at its Chakan plant for domestic and export markets.

3
3Who buys it

Its own-brand motorcycles and three-wheelers go to retail buyers and fleet or last-mile mobility operators across India and more than 79 export markets, especially Africa and Latin America, where Bajaj is a leading three-wheeler brand; KTM, Husqvarna and Triumph models are sold through those brands' own dealer networks worldwide.

4
4How it earns

Revenue comes mainly from domestic and exported two- and three-wheelers, with three-wheeler exports to Africa and Latin America historically a major contributor; the 2025 move to full control of KTM's parent lets it consolidate KTM's European motorcycle revenue into its own accounts, while the fee-based Triumph tie-up adds manufacturing and distribution income without equity risk.

The cash it actually made
Profit is an accounting figure; cash flow is what moved. Free cash flow is the cash from running the business less what was spent on plant and equipment, so it is what was left over to pay down debt or return to shareholders.
